CAMERA WORK / MISE EN SCENE
- Mirror shot of Anita gazing at  mirror. Trying to figure out her identity? Figure out what she is? Mid shot. Voyeurism.
- Supermarket lit very high key, public space, lively, binary opposition with Odi 'dying' on the ground and George being sad and quiet. Sitting down, shock, pensioner. However, lighting is harsh and fake, no love. Relatable, mundane, uk supermarket
- High angle Mid shot of Odi on the ground surrounded by smashed glass and jam. Connotes his fragility and broken state. Maybe won't be able to repair him?
- Shot/reverseshot of George and Detective talking. George in high angle connoting weakness. Detective in low angle showing power.
- Extreme close up of Odi's lips as George turns him back on. Makes viewer uncomfortable. Negotiated reading - lips close up, intimacy, sexual? Preffered reading - looking after each other, carer, memory, helper. Low key lighting ^ fixing Odi, dark scifi mad scientist connotations e.g. Frankenstein (fixing his creation). Dental tool adds to creepy atmosphere.


SOUND / MISE EN SCENE
- Sound of Odi failed start up
- Synth voices has post production reverb added
- George sheepish "dont want a crappy upgrade" like a kid who has been told off
- "Have to get it scrapped" strict and straightforward, then sympathetic "look" to empathise and connect with George. Threatening to kind
- Transition from supermarket to Georges home is silence with just odi failed startup noise
- Odi stutters when talking showing error 
- Odi "multiple faults detected upon startup" computer
- Non diagetic soundrack, old, reminiscent, sad
- "you... and... Mary" Talking to a child
- Soundtrack (non diagetic) becomes bassey, low, crescendo, synth (robotic) "Fatal Error" showing despair and hurt
- Odi's appearance - Young attractive 20's male. smudges of blue blood, smart collared shirt (wonky and then fixed by George) and knitted jumper, yellow (happy) blue (cold). Face demonstrated a silent fear at each error.

Mainstream Magazine - Woman (23-29 August 1964) - Set text

Mainstream Magazine - Woman (23-29) August 1964 Weekly magazine by IPC, started publishing in 1937, still publishing today. 1960's sold 3  million copies per week in 1960. 80p in modern money, 7p in that day. Cheap - aimed at working class and some middle-class women. Women magazines became very popular post-war selling around 12 million per week. Perhaps this is because women aspired to be stereotypical housewives and go back to how things used to be and conform to traditional? As they sell 1/4 of the 12 million it is a best selling magazine. A market leader. Capitalist. Consumerism. Ad's everywhere, promotes spending. Layout and design:  Font size, type, colour and connotations:   Called "Woman" implies specifically for females and is a broad, inclusive word e.g. lady formal and fancy while girl is child whereas woman is every grown female. Water Aid Advert: Claudia sings sunshine on a rainy day Water Aid context Established in 1981 as a response to the United Nations campaign for clean water, sanitisation, British advert primarily aimed at British people. Set in Zambia. Closeups positions us directly with her. The use of extreme closeups is to make us like or dislike something and here it is used to make us like her. Shot with lots of buckets shows just how much they need - surrounding one fountain. Lots of work needs to be done to get them the water they need. Bright pink flowers vs dull pink shoes. Positive compared to other charity adverts - progress and positivity. They are grateful and joyful for the resources they have been given from Britain. Advert: Preferred - Sympathetic to those in poverty/those in need in Africa. Get them to donate. Dominant - Opposition - Disrespecting African people by stereotyping them as poor and impoverished.
